Shingles
Shingles are the choice for most homeowners because of efficiency, longevity, and style. However, with so many choices out there Spann can help you pick the right type and style of shingle. From Architectural shingles to Designer shingles sometimes the choices can be overwhelming. That’s where we step in with our roofing experts to help you make the most informed decisions based on all factors.
Architectural Shingles
Architectural shingles, which are commonly know as laminated or high-definition shingles, offers homeowners an option for a three-dimensional look similar wood shake roof system but still has the qualities and price of an asphalt shingle roof. Architectural shingles are your most common residential roof type and can be found everywhere you look in your neighborhood. Architectural shingles come in several color options to meet all of your needs.
Designer Shingles
If you are interested in upgrading to something more than the standard architectural shingle look but you don’t want to switch to a metal or slate product, then a designer asphalt shingle may be just what you are looking for. There are many options to choose from, many of which are very economical that can also provide the look of slate, tile and even wood shakes.
Metal Roofing
Installing a metal roof on your home is a wise investment. A metal roof not only provides a long service life, but also adds curb appeal and benefits like durability, weather-resistance and reduced utility expense. Spann has installed Residential Metal roofs for many happy satisfied local clients throughout South Carolina.
With a variety of choices such as Standing Seam, Multi-rib Corrugated Panels, and 5V we are there to guide you though the process of the best metal roof for your unique situation.
Standing Seam
Standing seam roof panels are a concealed fastener metal panel roof system with a raised seam and flat area between the seams. Many different type of panel types are available, mostly based on the type of application that is required. Roof panel seams can be snapped together or mechanically seamed together depending on the type of application and location of the project. Roof panel widths vary from 12” to 20” and seam height range from 1” tall to 2” tall.
Spann Roofing recommends standing seam roof panels due to the fact that all fasteners are concealed beneath the roof panels and no fasteners are exposed to the environment. Standing seam is available in a variety of colors and can be fabricated out of painted galvalume or painted aluminum.
5V
5V, which many may know as “barn tin”, is another low-cost alternative for Homeowners looking to install a new metal roof on their home. The 5V roof panels are similar to the corrugated metal panel roof as they are attached using exposed fasteners through the field of the roof.
5V roof panels are what was commonly used as the roof system for barns, sheds and other structures where a low-cost roofing material could be installed over open framing. 5V roof panels are available in bare finish galvalume as well as painted galvalume (select colors available).
Multi-rib Corrugated Panels
Corrugated metal panel roof systems, or often times referred to as screw-down metal roof panels, are a ribbed metal roof panel which are attached to the roof substrate using exposed fasteners spread out across the field of the roof and at the laps of the metal panels. Typically, ribs are spaced at 9” or 12” on center and anywhere from 7/8” to 1-1/2” tall.
Corrugated metal roof panels are normally fabricated out of painted or bare finish galvalume, and are available in many colors. Corrugated metal panel roof systems offer homeowner a cheaper alternative that want the metal roof look for their home. However, it is homeowner for homeowners to acknowledge that exposed fasteners can lead to issues over time as these fasteners tend to deteriorate quickly over time and can lead to water infiltration if properly maintained.
Entire House
While not common, many houses are constructed with no-slope or very low-slope roofs that require something other than shingles or metal roof panels. There are many options to consider for Residential low-slope roof systems, including EPDM, PVC, Fluid-applied Coating TPO or a more traditional multi-ply built-up asphalt roof system. Many factors come into play when deciding what type of low-slope roof system to install of your home, let Spann help you decide what type of roof system best suits your needs and will provide the durability and longevity that you need to protect your home.
Porches & Decks
Often times Spann is contracted to install new or replacement roof membrane beneath a new or existing porch or roof deck system. Roofing membrane can be installed beneath the decking boards to help protect the space below from water, whether it is an enclosed space of the house or just an outdoor space to be used for gatherings or storage. The type of roof system to be installed in these applications can vary depending on what type of roof decking is being installed.
Let Spann assist in designing a new or replacement roof system for your porch or deck roof area that provide you with the peace and comfort that you don’t have to worry about for years to come.
Flat Roofing
Flat roofs are a familiar sight throughout North America. Any typical mall, warehouse, apartment building or school usually features a flat roof. This roof type is easier to install over large surfaces and is the most common choice for commercial, industrial and institutional buildings.
Is a flat roof the right choice for a home? Is it more expensive that a steeper pitched alternative? Is it harder to install? What about ongoing maintenance?
Whether choosing a roof design for a new home, or replacing/repairing a current flat roof, Spann Roofing offers much of the information needed to make informed decisions for a lasting, sturdy cover for your investment.
Specialty Roofing
Sometimes when you need a roofing solution that just needs to be different style wise, however still work efficiently you can count on Spann Roofing to get the job done right. Our experts can recommend a specialty roof rather it be Slate, Synthetic Slate, or even Wood or Cedar Shake that can not only function efficiently but also give style to your investment.
Slate
When it comes to specialty roof system for your home, slate shingles are the top of the list. Slate is a natural rock material fabricated into a shingle.
Synthetic Slate
If natural slate shingles do not fit your budget but you still are looking for the slate shingle look, there are other options available to you.
Wood Shakes
Wood Shingles and Cedar Shakes, which are commonly confused, are actually different from one another and must be installed differently from one another.

Routine checks and maintenance are necessary for your roof to maintain it’s lifespan. Natural events happen which can sometimes cause your roof to sustain unavoidable damage. When that happens you can trust Spann to come inspect, repair, and maintain your roof so you have piece of mind for yourself and family.
We offer multiple solutions for keeping your roof in top shape. Our Preventative Maintenance program protects your home’s most valuable asset, your roof.
Our common roof repairs include:
• Chimney flashing repair
• Skylight replacement
• Bathroom fan vent pipe
• Plumbing Vent pipes
• Attic Vents
• Ridge Vent
• General moisture issues
• Sagging Roof
• Missing, Cracked or Curled Shingles
Gutters & Downspouts
Gutters are used installed at roof eaves to help direct water from the roof away from your home. Gutters can help with protecting landscaping, porches, exterior doors and anything else that could potentially be damaged by consistent water over an extended period of time. Heavy rainfall can lead to deteriorating wood trim around windows, porches and washed out foundations up against your home.
Gutters and downspouts are available in many different styles which can be outfitted to match your home’s exterior. Spann has extensive experience in the installation of new gutter systems whether it is the standard ogee style gutters, custom copper gutters or a custom specialty gutter to meet any special situation that you may have on your home.
Ogree Style
The term “OGEE” refers to the elongated, double curved “S” shape of the front face of the gutter. When viewed from the side, the OGEE gutter profile is reminiscent of the decorative crown molding used in traditional homes that curves up and out so it’s wider at the top than the bottom.
Most homes in the U.S. are equipped with the same drab style of aluminum gutters. If you want something a little different—and stylish—then you should consider going with half-round gutters. Just like the name implies, half-round gutters look like you took a fully-enclosed pipe and cut it in half lengthwise.
Half-Round
When normal gutters just won't do and you need something that not only works efficiently but also brings and element of style to your investment then count on Spann and our Fabrication capabilities to create a custom gutter solution that will work but also bring a specific visual appeal to your home.

Our Mission
Some may not consider roofers as craftsman, but this crew was full of them. The took care of my home as if it was their's. Tarped every inch while they tore off the old. They repaired a bad spot on the back and did a fantastic job fixing it. The repair was ten times better than the original job. The clean up was nothing shy of meticulous. Not an inch was missed, not an errant piece of trash left. Who brings a porta john to such a small job? This speaks volumes about Spann and how they treat their crews. I would use them again and again, but I don't think I will need to.

This was the best company to deal with!! Within days of contacting them someone came out, inspected my roof & gave me an estimate immediately. They met with my insurance company's rep & in less than a week I had a new roof. Everything was done in one day & the cleanup was flawless. There was an inspection done the next day & a few adjustments were done the day after. I would recommend this company to everyony!!

Spann just completed a roofing project on our house. They worked with our schedule. They covered our plants around the house so that they weren’t damaged. They did an excellent job in cleaning up. And they did an excellent roofing the house, with photos and emails along the way. We are very pleased with the way they handled the project, from initial meetings to the final work. Dave B. and Dave W. were very hands on. Great work.

I work for a company that manages HOAs. During Tropical Storm Debby we had many roof leaks reported. This is something that we need to get on ASAP and Thomas Leonard at Spann Roofing was the most amazing person. He was able to assess things even during the storm. We will continue to use their services. They are quick, professional, pleasant and all around fantastic. Thank you Spann and Thomas!

I've recently spoken to Spann about an upcoming roof that I'm going to have done. I talked to Melissa at good length and she was extremely helpful and knowledgeable about my options. One of my neighbors had theirs done through Spann and were happy having both a great roof and a very good value. I'm going to be doing the same soon as well.
